2nd Grade Music Standards
M2-1: The student will become familiar with names for notation elements of music and continue to expand upon rhythmic elements in movement and patterns.
M2-2: The student will demonstrate (through singing, playing, & movement) high-to-low pitch organization, accurately repeat melodies using solfege and identify examples of standard notation (symbols and note names).
M2-3: The student will perform sung and instrumental accompaniment to familiar songs, sign I and V harmonic accompaniments, and sing rounds.
M2-4: The student will accurately identify and demonstrate AB, ABA, AABB, AABA, Q & A, call and response and introduction forms in all genres and expressly folk music.
M2-5: The student will continue to develop an appreciation of music in their world and the world around them.
